Change in Nonfarm Payrolls

SmartMarketData LLC forecasts that the US gained 176k jobs in October, slightly below the consensus of 178k. During October we saw our LinkUp Online Active Job postings slightly increase by 1%, Jobs Filled declined 7.5%, and Jobs Created declined by 22%. This points to a likely decline next month in the non farm payroll adds. Our job post Duration indicator rose slightly to 81 days, well off highs near 100 reached at the beginning of 2016. Job post Duration is a proxy for full employment, with high levels suggesting the economy is at or near full employment.
